Privacy Policy
Scribbble is an app that turns handwritten notes into structured digital notes. Your privacy is a core part of the product: your notes are private, and they are never used to train AI models.

What data we process
scroll the table sideways →
| Data | What it's used for | Where it's stored |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous trial identifier | Enabling a two-page trial before you have an account — no email, no name | Supabase (EU, Stockholm) |
| Your Apple ID email address | Signing in and identifying your account | Supabase (EU, Stockholm) |
| Scanned images | Creating notes and showing the original pages | Supabase Storage (EU, Stockholm) |
| Note content (text, decisions, tasks) | The app's core functionality and search | Supabase (EU, Stockholm) |
| Monthly page count | Tracking the free quota (15 pages/month) | Supabase (EU, Stockholm) |
| Subscription information (Scribbble Pro) | Checking whether your subscription is active | Apple's App Store handles payment; we never see your card details |
You can try Scribbble without an account: your first scan creates an anonymous trial identifier, and the notes from your two-page trial are stored against it before you sign in. During the trial, the original image is not stored at all — it's still sent to Gemini for text recognition just like it is once you're signed in, but the app skips storing it, so the trial only ever keeps the extracted text. When you sign in, your trial notes move to your account; see below for what happens if you never do.
We don't collect location data, use analytics or advertising trackers, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
AI processing
When you scan a page, the image is sent through our server to Google's Gemini API, which reads the handwriting and structures the note. We use the Gemini API under terms where Google does not use submitted data to train its models. Once you're signed in, the image and the recognized text are stored only in your own account. During the trial (before you sign in), the image is never stored at all — see above.
Data retention and deletion
- Notes and images in your account are kept until you delete them yourself in the app.
- Deleting a note also deletes its related decisions, tasks, and search index entries.
- You can request deletion of your entire account and all your data by emailing mikko@aedis.fi. Deletion is completed within 30 days.
- Data from an unauthenticated trial: when you sign in, your trial notes move to your account automatically. If you never sign in, the trial identifier and its note are deleted automatically within 30 days of starting the trial — you can't request this deletion separately, because the trial identifier has no email address or other contact detail that could identify you.
Your rights (EU GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data (the app's export features cover text, PDF, and the original images). Contact the address above for any of these requests.
